Chakras are centres of subtle energy within the body that influence physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Originating from ancient yogic traditions, they are often visualised as spinning wheels or vortices that regulate the flow of prana (life force). When balanced, chakras support harmony and vitality; when blocked or overactive, they may contribute to imbalance on various levels.

There are seven main chakras, each with its own qualities:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Located at the base of the spine, it governs grounding, stability, and basic survival needs. It provides a sense of safety and connection to the physical world.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Situated below the navel, this chakra influences creativity, pleasure, sexuality, and emotional fluidity. It supports healthy relationships and the experience of joy.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Found in the upper abdomen, it relates to personal power, confidence, will, and transformation. It fuels motivation and self-esteem.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – At the centre of the chest, it represents love, compassion, forgiveness, and emotional balance. It bridges the physical and spiritual chakras.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Located at the throat, it governs communication, truth, and authentic self-expression.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Between the eyebrows, this chakra is associated with intuition, insight, perception, and inner wisdom.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – At the top of the head, it represents consciousness, spiritual connection, and a sense of unity.
